Georgetown Set for 2026 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships

WASHINGTON – Georgetown track & field will head to UConn's Sherman Sports Complex for the 2026 BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships presented by Jeep, set for May 14-16 in Storrs, Connecticut.

About the Georgetown Men
  • Georgetown placed third at the 2026 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, securing two event titles in the 800m and 4x400m.
  • Tinoda Matsatsa holds the top 800m time in the conference after tying the meet and facility records at the Virginia Challenge with a season-best time of 1:45.12. His mark is the sixth fastest in the NCAA this season. Matsatsa won the 800m event title and set a new meet record at last year's conference championships with a time of 1:45.49.
  • Jaden Marchan's 46.15 mark in the 400m that he set at the Virginia Challenge remains the leading time in the conference.
  • At the Penn Relays, Birhanu Harriman nearly captured the individual title in the 5,000m with an outdoor personal best time of 13:37.90. His mark is the fifth fastest in program history and ranks second in the conference.
  • Edwin Klanke recorded the second-fastest 1,500m finish in the conference at the Florida Relays with a time of 3:39.98.
 
About the Georgetown Women
 
  • The Hoyas finished fifth at last year's championships, also capturing event titles in the 400m, 200m, 800m, 3,000m steeplechase and 10,000m.
  • Charlotte Tomkinson broke the program record in the 800m after clocking a time of 2:01.56 at the Duke Twilight on May 3. Her mark leads the BIG EAST and ranks 18th nationally.
  • The Hoyas also hold the top two 1,500m marks in the conference, led by Tomkinson's 4:12.81 mark that she ran at the Florida Relays and Melissa Riggins' mark of 4:13.53 that she set at the Duke Twilight.
  • Ida Moczerniuk concluded the regular season with the second-fastest 100m time in the conference, finishing with a mark of 11.56 seconds at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational.
