WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's basketball freshman big man Thomas Sorber was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week and graduate student Micah Peavy earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league office in New York on Monday. The honors come after a 2-0 week for Georgetown, with wins over Wagner (66-41) and UAlbany (100-68).
 
THOMAS SORBER (FRESHMAN / FORWARD/CENTER / 6-10 / 255 / TRENTON, N.J.)

• Thomas Sorber averaged a double-double with 11.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg, while dishing out 5.0 apg in a 2-0 week for the Blue & Gray.
• Sorber shot 66.7% (10-15) from the floor, including 50.0% (2-4) from beyond the arc.
• He tallied his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds against UAlbany (W, 100-68) and managed a three-block game against Wagner (W, 66-41).
• This is the third time this season Sorber has earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.

 
MICAH PEAVY (GRADUATE STUDENT / GUARD/FORWARD / 6-8 / 220 / CIBOLO, TEXAS)

• Micah Peavy averaged 19.5 ppg, 5.5 apg and 4.5 spg in a 2-0 week for the Blue & Gray. Peavy shot 56.5% (13-23) and 54.5% (6-11) from downtown.
• The graduate student recorded five steals against Wagner (W, 66-41) before a complete game against UAlbany where he scored 24 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed four rebounds. He managed four steals and recorded a trio of blocks while going 9-for-13 (64.3%) from the floor.
• This is Peavy's first nod to the BIG EAST Honor Roll this season and the second for the Hoya squad.

Georgetown will return to action Monday night when the Hoyas host UMBC in the District.
