WASHINGTON – The Georgetown men's basketball team and Hoyas Rising partnered to host a holiday event on Friday, December 20 at Woody Ward Community Center. Together with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Division, players and coaches celebrated the holiday season with families and children from Ward 7 and Ward 8 with The District.

We had a place that was safe, a place to eat, a place to play, a place to grow, a place to read, and ultimately it helped shape us. Activities included meet-and-greets, games, photo opportunities and holiday cookie decorating. Each family received a gift basket from the team and the collective, as well as an invitation to an upcoming men's basketball game at Capital One Arena.
