Georgetown Travels to No. 15/14 UConn on Friday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will hit the road for another BIG EAST Conference matchup against the No. 15/14 UConn Huskies on Friday evening. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut.

  • Georgetown is sitting at 16-9 overall and 6-8 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • GU is coming off of a 62-47 loss to Villanova on Tuesday at home.
  • Junior Ariel Jenkins led the way as the lone Hoya in double figures with 13 points in the contest as well as a squad-best eight rebounds.

  • UConn is 21-5 overall and 13-0 in the league after an 86-40 win at Xavier on Wednesday evening.
  • Paige Bueckers had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Aaliyah Edwards added 16 points and 10 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season.
  • Bueckers leads UConn with 20.0 points per game this season. She is also the Huskies' leader in steals (56) and blocks (28) and ranks second in assists (95). Edwards is averaging a career-high 17.8 points per game while adding a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.
