WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team hosts No. 13 Johns Hopkins in the 2024 home opener on Saturday afternoon. Opening faceoff is set for noon at Cooper Field.

- The Hoyas are looking for their first win of the season after dropping their opener 18-10 at Loyola last weekend.
- Jordan Wray led the Blue & Gray with a career-high five goals against the Greyhounds to earn a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
- Patrick Crogan had two goals, TJ Haley scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists and both Aidan Carroll and Alexander Vardaro added a goal and an assist.
- James Ball won 16 of 22 (.727) faceoffs and added five ground balls.
- In goal, Anderson Moore (0-1) had eight saves in cage for his collegiate debut.
Scouting Johns Hopkins
- The Blue Jays (1-1) are coming off a 13-5 midweek victory over Towson after dropping their season opener 13-12 to Denver in overtime last Saturday.
- Jacob Angelus leads JHU with 10 points (6G, 4A) while Hunter Chauvette (6G), Garrett Degnon (4G, 2A) and Russell Melendez (3G, 3A) each have six points on the year.
- Logan Callahan has taken all but four faceoffs for Hopkins, winning 25 of 44 (.568) to go with 13 ground balls.
- Defensively, Degnon and Scott V. Smith both have a pair of caused turnovers with Smith collecting nine GBs as well.
- Chayse Ierlan (1-1) has started both games for the Blue Jays and has a 9.19 goals-against average to go with 19 saves and a .514 save percentage.
Series History
- Despite being less than 40 miles apart, Georgetown and Johns Hopkins have only played five times in program history.
- The Blue Jays hold a 4-1 series advantage, including a come-from-behind 13-12 win in Baltimore last season.
- Georgetown's victory in the series came courtesy of a 16-8 win on the Hilltop in 2022.
- Two of the other prior meetings came in the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2007 after the first match up in 1993.
