WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will host the Penn State Nittany Lions on Friday, April 3 at the United States Naval Academy. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (29-15) is coming off two setbacks in midweek contests. GU dropped Tuesday's game to James Madison 13-12 and dropped Wednesday's contest against George Mason 13-2.
- Christian Ficca leads GU at the plate slashing .351/.464/.598 on the season. Ficca leads the team in hits with 61, is second in doubles with 13, is tied for the team lead in home runs (10) and leads the team in RBIs with 55 on the season.
- On the mound, Andrew Williams and Everett Catlett lead the Hoyas combining for a 9-2 record on the season. Williams boasts a 2.37 ERA, a mark good for first in the conference. The junior has pitched 49.1 innings on the season and has allowed only 13 earned runs while striking out 40. Catlett boasts a 5-1 record and a 2.93 ERA. Catlett has tossed 58.1 innings this season allowing 19 earned runs while striking out 63.
- Ficca and Cody Bowker earned BIG EAST Honors as announced by the conference on Monday this week. Ficca was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week while Bowker was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Ficca batted .500 last week with five hits, one double, one home run, eight RBIs and six walks. Bowker tossed six innings en route to his fourth win of the season on the mound. The sophomore allowed four hits and two earned runs while fanning eight Creighton batters.
- Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in base on balls (239) a mark good for 34th nationally. GU leads the conference in double plays (43) which ranks ninth nationally, doubles (97) which ranks 31st nationally, ERA (4.67) which is good for 41st in the country, hits (458) good for 35th in the country, runs (350) and slugging percentage (.481). The Blue & Gray are second in WHIP (1.47) and second in walks allowed per nine innings (4.67).
ABOUT PENN STATE
- Penn State (20-19) dropped two out of three games against the University of Minnesota last weekend with the Nittany Lions lone victory being in game one with a final score of 7-3.
- J.T. Marr leads PSU at the plate slashing .411/.453/.601 on the season. Marr has 67 hits, 13 doubles, six home runs and 41 RBIs.
- Travis Luensmann leads the Nittany Lions on the mound with a 4-2 record and a 4.91 ERA. Luensmann has tossed 51.1 innings this season and has allowed 28 earned runs while striking out 44 across 11 appearances.
