WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's rowing had one rower named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, as announced by the league office on Thursday. Senior
Kennedy Watson earned Academic All-Patriot League honors for the first time.
Watson raced in the 2V8+ for all races over the spring 2024 campaign helping the squad take first at the Dad Vail Regatta in the 2V8+ Grand Final and to an Overall Team Points Trophy victory. She was also part of a boat that placed third at the Patriot League Rowing Championship last weekend.
In the classroom, Watson is a human science (pre-medical) major with a 3.933 GPA. This impressive GPA made her the valedictorian of the School of Health among all undergraduate students as well as winning the award for top GPA in the school among student-athletes.
Off of the water, Watson has served as the team's mental health representative as well as encouraged the team to become involved in community service efforts.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
