Stephen Amoako Joins 2024 Football Coaching Staff

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Football Head Coach Rob Sgarlata has announced on Wednesday that Stephen Amoako will be joining the 2024 coaching staff as the team's new wide receivers coach.

"We are very excited to welcome Stephen Amoako and his family to the Hilltop. Stephen played at the highest level at Oregon and brings coaching experience on both sides of the ball to our wide receiver room. I am excited to see Stephen continue to develop as a detail oriented teacher and mentor to our student-athletes. He has a wealth of experience in two of our top national areas, California and Texas.  Stephen will enhance the Hoya Football Family both on and off of the field." - Head Coach Rob Sgarlata

Amoako joins the Hoyas after spending the last two seasons as a Wide Receivers Coach at the College of San Mateo. Amoako has coached seven wideouts who have earned Division I Scholarships. Amoako has had coaching stints at Gavilan College as the Defensive Backs Coach and at De Anza College where they won the 2018 PAC 7 Championship.

Before coaching, Amoako was a defensive back at the University of Oregon and was a member of the 2014 PAC 12 Championship team that won the Rose Bowl and earned a berth in the first-ever College Football Playoff.
