WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football had one defensive player and two special team athletes earn a spot on the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday. Junior Wedner Cadet was chosen as a defensive back, Nicholas Dunneman was chosen as a return specialist and Sebastain Alonso was selected as a long snapper. 

The Hoyas were also voted fifth in the 2024 Patriot League Preseason Poll ahead of Lehigh in sixth and Bucknell in seventh. Lafayette was voted first with 12 first-place votes followed by Holy Cross in second, Fordham in third and Colegate in fourth. 

Wedner Cadet | DB | Jr. | Wellesley, Mass. - Patriot League Preseason All-League Team 

• Named to the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team for the second-consecutive year. 
• Played in eight games for the Hoyas. 
• Recorded 21 tackles (14 solo, 7 ast), two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Nicholas Dunneman | RS | Jr. | Montclair, N.J. - Patriot League Preseason All-League Team 

• Played in all 12 games for the Hoyas last season. 
• Record 76 catches for 749 yards and four touchdowns. 
• Returned 20 punts for 214 yards with a longest return of 31 yards. 
• Named to the 2023 All-Patriot League Offensive Second Team as a wide receiver and a return specialist.  

Sebastain Alonso | LS | Gr. | Miami, Fla. - Preseason All-League Team 

• Played in 11 games for the Hoyas last season. 
• Was selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2024.
