Women’s Soccer Welcomes Three Transfers to the Hilltop for 2024 Season

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Head Women's Soccer Coach Dave Nolan announced the singing of three transfers for the 2024 season. GU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023 after securing the programs fourth-consecutive BIG EAST Championship over Xavier in November.

"We are very excited to add these three young women to our squad for this fall," said Nolan. "All three come from top programs with great experiences and all are excited for a new challenge and experience at Georgetown. In particular, they will help us fill the void created by the graduation of the spine of our backline from last year in Allie Augur, Julia Leas and Brianne Riley. We welcome them to the Hilltop."

Anna Karpenko
Started all 17 games for Harvard in 2023
Made 41 collegiate appearances for the Crimson
Member of Canada Youth National Team

"Anna was one of the top goalkeepers in college soccer last year. She has experience with the Full Canadian National Team and has a bright future within soccer after college. An excellent shot stopper with great distribution and decision making, I fully expect her to compete with all our goalkeepers from day one and her personality will add to what is already a great group." – Head Coach Dave Nolan

Lawson Renie
Started all 17 games for Tennessee in 2023
Made 71 collegiate appearances
Scored five goals in her career

"We had recruited Lawson the first time around and always kept tabs on her during her time at UT. She is a very versatile player, who can play up front and also at the back. Blessed with great size and smooth technique, she also has a fantastic temperament, and she can really help us this fall."

Emily Royson
Started seven games for Duke in 2023
Made 70 collegiate appearances
Has eight career assists

"Obviously, we are very familiar with Emily from her sister, Jenna, who had a great career with us before spending her fifth year playing with Emily at Duke.  Emily is a great athlete, who can play anywhere along the backline and brings great experience with her. She will definitely help us as we build a new backline for this fall."
