WASHINGTON – The Georgetown university men's golf team earned the Golf Coaches Association of America Outstanding Team Academic Award as announced by GCAA on Tuesday. Georgetown was one of 240 schools across six divisions and one of the 59 NCAA Division I institutions that earned GCAA Outstanding Team Academic recognition.
"Our team GPA of 3.80 was the highest ever for a Georgetown men's golf team. All 10 players were exemplary in the classroom. We are grateful for their work ethic and very proud of their passion for academic success," – said Head Coach

GU posted a team GPA of 3.80 in the spring, the highest among varsity sports teams at Georgetown. The Hoyas earned the Presidents Special Recognition of having a team GPA higher than a 3.5.
Four Hoyas were also named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division I schools.

Carsten Judge were all tabbed as All-America Scholars for their efforts on and off the course this year.

The ability to balance the demands of academic excellence and success on the golf course is a daunting task. Their award is a true testament to their commitment to what it means to be a student-athlete," said Hunter.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
