Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team defeated the Creighton Bluejays 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Shaw Field. With the win, GU improves to 5-1-3 and 1-0 in BIG EAST action while Creighton slides to 3-3-1 and 0-1 in conference play.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"The most important thing about today is that we got the win and three points. Creighton came in here with a gameplan and I don't blame their coach, but they tried to shrink the field, run the clock down and make the game shorter. There were a lot of fouls today that broke up any rhythm of the game. It was a matter of can we withstand the few moments they did something, but also could we find a little bit of magic. Thankfully we had a really good opportunity and finish from
Maja Lardner. I think overall we have to play better; I was a bit disappointed with our performance today, I think we are a better team than we showed. I felt against this team, at home, we needed to show more, and we didn't, but it is on to Thursday now. It is the BIG EAST; every game is a fight for three points, and we will be ready to go on Thursday against Seton Hall."
