WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team will hit the road for the first time this season and travel up to Poughkeepsie, New York to take on Marist on Saturday, September 7. Kickoff is slated for noon at Tenney Stadium.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas are coming off a season-opening win 46-24 over Davidson on the Hilltop last Saturday. GU has now won seven of their last eight season openers.
- Three Hoyas earned weekly Patriot League honors for their performance in the win.
- Sophomore Cooper Bloomstom was named Defensive Player of the Week for recording 10 tackles, including two for a loss of six yards and one sack for four yards. The defensive lineman also made the tackle to earn the Blue & Gray a safety in the opening drive of the contest.
- Senior Patrick Ryan was named Special Team Player of the Week for kicking three field goals and going 5-5 on PATs.
- Sophomore Bryce Cox earned an Honorable Mention for rushing for 84 yards on three attempts and earning two touchdowns. His longest rush was for 59 yards and resulted in the Hoyas' second touchdown.
- Against the Wildcats, sophomore Quincy Briggs recovered a fumble and returned it for a 64-yard touchdown to give the Hoyas a 19-point lead in the third quarter.
- Georgetown was the only Patriot League team to capture a win during week one.
- The Hoyas lead the conference in rushing offense with an average of 9.1 per attempt.
ABOUT THE MARIST RED FOXES
- The Red Foxes open the season against the Hoyas on Saturday.
- Marist hired Mike Willis in December to be the fifth head coach in program history. Willis came to Marist after serving as Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator at his alma mater, Princeton University.
- The Red Foxes will be led by graduate students Mohamed Diawara, Gannon McCorkle and Miles Kauderer, senior Nick Jack and redshirt junior Jackson Willette.
- Last season, Marist finished 4-7 overall and 4-4 in the Pioneer Football League.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
- Georgetown and Davidson are meeting for the 25th time, and the Hoyas hold a 19-5 advantage in the series, having won six of the last seven meetings.
- Last season the Hoyas opened the 2023 campaign with a 49-7 win over the Red Foxes on Cooper Field.
- The last time GU played at Tenney Stadium was in 2022, when the Hoyas won 43-12.
