WASHINGTON – Casey Cepicky joined the Georgetown University volleyball program as an assistant coach, as announced by Head Coach AJ Bonetti on Friday. Cepicky comes to the Hilltop after spending the past three seasons as a graduate assistant at Troy.
"I could not be more excited to join this program! From the moment I stepped on campus, it was evident that the student athletes have all the tools for success both on and off the court. I look forward to working with AJ and Jane, not only for their knowledge and experience in the sport, but for their personal values and principles they have integrated within the program. I am honored to contribute to the building of this program while mentoring all of the players that walk through our door!" - Assistant Coach Casey Cepicky
"I'm extremely excited to add Casey to our already outstanding staff at Georgetown University. Casey will bring an excellent perspective and some outstanding experience to the Hilltop for all of our student-athletes to learn and grow from." - Head Coach AJ Bonetti
Before Georgetown, Cepicky served for three seasons as a graduate assistant at Troy and helped coach the Trojans to their two best conference finishes in 2022 (11-5) and 2023 (12-4). Each season set a record for the most conference wins in program history. In 2023, Cepicky coached two players to All-Sun Belt First Team honors, with another being named All-Sun Belt Second Team. During her time at USI, she earned two Second-Team All-GLVC awards, earned GLVC offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards, and finished third in overall assists. She is the only player in the history of USI to have over 3,000 assists and over 1,000 digs.
During her playing career, she has developed in coaching through assisting High Performance STL volleyball club teams and giving private lessons: 15 Orange (2021), 17 Orange (2021-2022), and 18 Royal (2021-2022).
