WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's and women's tennis teams return to action for a two-match weekend. The men's squad will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia this Friday and Saturday for matchups against Princeton and Virginia Tech, respectively. The women's team will open BIG EAST play on Friday evening against DePaul before taking on Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon.

FOLLOW THE HOYAS

• Men's Tennis will take on the Princeton University Tigers at 10 a.m. on January 31 before capping off their weekend with a matchup at Virginia Tech on February 1 at 10 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Burrows Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.

• Women's Tennis will host the DePaul University Blue Demons in their first BIG EAST matchup of the season on Friday, January 31 at 5:15 p.m. Women's tennis will then compete Sunday, February 2 at 2:15 p.m., as they host Mount St. Mary's. Both matches will be played at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland.

ABOUT GEORGETOWN MEN'S TENNIS | 1-1, 0-0 in BIG EAST

• The Blue & Gray are coming off an impressive performance against Howard that earned them their first win of the spring season.

• GU accumulated a 9-0 record between singles and doubles matches, going 6-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.

• Jake Fellows enters the match with a 2-0 record in singles and a streak of 16 consecutive victories in singles matches dating back to last season.

• Fellows, Arthur O'Sullivan, James O'Sullivan, Akira Morgenstern, Sahil Morey and Burke Pablo all earned their first singles victories of the season.

• The duos of Fellows/Arthur O'Sullivan, Morgenstern/Adhvyte Sharma and James O'Sullivan/Pablo all picked up doubles wins.

ABOUT GEORGETOWN WOMEN'S TENNIS | 1-0, 0-0 in BIG EAST 

• GU started the spring season on a high note with a 5-2 win over Howard University at Yates FieldHouse on the campus of Georgetown University. 

• The Hoyas went 5-1 in singles matches and 1-2 in doubles matches, with Emily Novikov, Paige Gilbert, Natasha Kavarana, Carolyn Schaefer and Ellen Puzak all picking up singles wins.

• Paige Gilbert/Carolyn Schaefer picked up the lone doubles win for the Hoyas.

• GU is coming off a 4-2 record in BIG EAST play last season.
