WASHINGTON- Georgetown University's track & field squads will travel to Penn State for the Penn State National Open from Friday, January 31 to Saturday, February 1 at The Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
The Hoyas have 41 student-athletes set to compete across 18 events.
About the Georgetown Men
- At the Nittany Lion Challenge, Tinoda Matsatsa broke his own NCAA Indoor Track & Field 1000m record with a time of 2:16.84 at the Nittany Lion Challenge on January 18. His previous record was almost exactly a year apart, coming on January 19, 2024, where he posted a time of 2:18.05 at the Hokie Invitational.
- At the Nittany Lion Challenge, Jaden Marchan delivered a stellar performance, running a 47.11 in the men's 400m to achieve the second-fastest time in school history and a 2nd-place finish.
- At the Nittany Lion Challenge, Colin Kirkpatrick picked up a 1st-place finish for the Hoyas in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:09.84.
About the Georgetown Women
- At the Penn Opener in Philadelphia, Rebecca Ochan set a new school record in the women's 300m with a time of 38.21.
- At the Hokie Challenge, Chloe Scrimgeour and Lucy Jenks delivered an impressive 1-2 finish, with Scrimgeour securing first place in 9:27.02 and Jenks close behind at 9:27.25.
