Georgetown Women’s Allegiance Hosts Annual Networking Event

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown Women's Allegiance hosted its annual networking event for GU student-athletes last week. The event was organized by the Women's Allegiance Networking & Mentorship subcommittee as a way to create a networking and mentorship event for female student-athletes and student-athlete alumnae who live and work in the D.C. area.

The initiative aimed to support current student-athletes and assist alumni student-athletes in transitioning beyond their sports careers. The agenda included a panel discussion, as well as three company panels.

What They're Saying About the Georgetown Women's Allegiance Networking Event
  • "We were delighted that so many Georgetown female student-athlete alumni so graciously returned to provide networking and mentoring opportunities to the current female student-athletes. This is Hoyas helping Hoyas at its best. Mary Taylor Behrens (C'83, Parent'16, '18, '22) and I were delighted to hear the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the female student-athletes". - Drew Fine (B'84)

  • "The event was incredibly well put together, and I learned so much. As a student-athlete, it is hard to take the time in our busy schedules to go to networking events and gain the information needed to begin planning our lives post-grad. This Women's Allegiance event made me feel empowered as not only a student-athlete, but as a female student-athlete. I gained insights on how to take advantage of opportunities in front of me, and curate my personal story to best advertise who I am as a person, student and athlete. I left the event feeling excited, empowered and prepared to tackle this next step in my journey." - Kira Agne, Women's Swimming & Diving

  • "This event, organized by Al Lattell and the Georgetown Athletics Women's Allegiance, always turns out to be a positive and successful experience. My team and I had the invaluable opportunity to connect with Georgetown alumni who are thriving in their dream careers. I know that through these connections I will better be able to understand my skills and passions—I look forward to furthering my abilities with strong young women beside me!" - Abby Kozo, Softball
