ON THE RECORD
"Another great day to be Hoya. Was exhilarating watching both teams compete at a high level today to secure automatic bids to the NCAA XC Championships next week with runner-up placings. Needless to say, Birhanu's effort to win the Men's Individual Title with a great ending kick made that victory that much sweeter. Both teams have stepped up to be ready for the post season and it's certainly a great accomplishment to be able to have them both ending their season at the National Championships next Saturday in Columbia, Missouri." - Director of Cross Country
Alton McKenzie
"A very solid day for the men. Birhanu executed an outstanding race to get the individual title. The goal of our program is to compete well at the national level every year. The first step in that is qualifying. The men checked that box and we are excited to be a much better team in Missouri next week." -Men's Cross Country Head Coach
Brandon Bonsey.
"The women put together a very solid day that mirrored their Big East racing. Great running up front by Riggins in third, dynamism in the order of our 2-3-4 with today a breakout from Tomkinson in 10th to finish as our second, and another critically steady race by Bell in 20th, closing out the scoring and keeping our spread right near 30 seconds. All of those pieces were needed to earn an automatic NCAA bid out of an extremely competitive region. We're grateful to have health and consistency today, and for the chance to represent Georgetown and our alumni at next week's NCAAs." -Women's Cross Country Head Coach
Mitchell Baker.
