Georgetown Women’s Golf in South Carolina for Daniel Island Invitational

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team played a practice round on Sunday and is in South Carolina for the Daniel Island Invitational, hosted by College of Charleston. The 14-team field will compete on the par-72 course on Monday and Tuesday, February 24-25 at the Daniel Island Golf Course.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS
  • Scoreboard by Clippd will be used to score the tournament with a link to the live scoring available on GUHoyas.com.
  • The tournament will begin on Monday, February 24, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday before the final 18 on Tuesday, February 25. Monday will be an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Megan Gormley was the top finisher at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge to open the spring portion of the season. A homecoming for the graduate student, she carded a 13-over 226 (75-78-73) to tie for 64th. For her efforts with eight birdies and 28 pars, she was named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week.
  • Georgia Ruffolo opened the spring season tied for 68th with a 14-over 227 (77-77-73). Over three days on the west coast, she managed five birdies and 30 pars.
  • Gabriella Eifrig finished 80th at 21-over 234 (80-78-76) at the Palos Verdes Golf Club to open the season. She had a three-round total of four birdies and 29 pars.
  • Charlotte Hillary is fourth in the lineup after she opened the spring with three birdies and 21 pars in Palos Verdes Estates, California.
  • Freshman Catherine Qiu opened the spring season with a three-round score of 30-over 243 (73-83-87). The freshman totaled seven birdies and 24 pars.
