WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's track & field program wrapped up day one of competition on Friday, February 28, at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, presented by Jeep in Chicago, Illinois.
In the women's 5000 finals, Fiona Max ran an impressive 16:38.49 to secure a third-place podium finish. Birhanu Harriman earned a strong third-place finish in the men's 5000, crossing the line with a time of 14:03.33.
The Hoyas qualified 21 athletes for tomorrow's finals.

Georgetown Men's Results
- Men's 5000: Harriman secured an impressive third-place finish in the event, clocking in at 14:03.33.
- Men's Long Jump: Roberto Terrell Jr. jumped for a final mark of 6.80m (22-3.75) to finish the event in seventh place.
- Men's DMR: The team of Matthew Griffin, Joshua Davenport, Nicholas Medeiros and James Dunne placed second with a time of 9:43.87.
- Men's Mile Prelims: Abel Teffra dominated and secured a first -place finish in the men's mile prelims with a time of 4:06.83. Colin Kirkpatrick took eighth with a time of 4:09.39 and Akshay Vadul claimed 11th with a time of 4:11.71. All three Hoyas will return tomorrow to compete in the finals.
- Men's 60m Hurdles Prelims: Aiden Tam placed ninth in the event with a time of 8.65, just shy of a finals berth.
- Men's 400 Prelims: Natanael Vigo Catala claimed first in heat one and fifth overall with a time of 48.38. Nicholas Givan claimed sixth with a time of 48.56. Both Hoyas will compete in the finals.
- Men's 60 Prelims: Aaron Guillaume placed 11th in the prelims with a time of 7.04, just short of qualifying for the finals.
- Men's 800 Prelims: Gabriele Angiono crossed the line in 1:51.34 which earned him second overall in the event. Tinoda Matsatsa secured fourth with a time of 1:51.40 and Ryan Mulroney claimed seventh with 1:51.05. All three Hoyas punched their ticket to the finals.
- Men's 200 Prelims: Aaron Guillaume placed ninth with a time of 21.90 and Joshua Davenport ran a personal-best 21.99 for tenth. Both Hoyas came up just shy of qualifying for the finals.

- Women's 5000: Max secured a stellar third-place finish in the event, clocking in at an impressive 16:38.49.
- Women's Long Jump: Paris Coleman placed ninth in the event with a mark of 5.19m (17-0.50).
- Women's DMR: The team of Hannah Andrejczyk, Emilia Puskas, Mary Grace Hegberg and Chloe Gonzalez finished in seventh with a time of 11:59.40.
- Women's Mile Prelims: Charlotte Tomkinson took first place in the women's mile prelims with a time of 4:44.43, while Almi Nerurkar followed closely in third with a time of 4:45.32. Olivia Morganti secured eighth with a time of 4:49.96. All three Hoyas will return tomorrow to compete in the finals.
- Women's 60m Hurdles Prelims: Paris Coleman took fourth overall in the event with a time of 8.79 to punch her ticket to the finals.
- Women's 400 Prelims: Rebecca Ochan ran a 54.41 to earn a second-place finish in the event. Abbie Huey took first place in the third heat of the prelims and third overall with a time of 54.73. Both Hoyas qualified for the finals set on day two.
- Women's 60 Prelims: Piper Rodgers ran a 7.63 in the event to secure seventh place and a spot in the finals.
- Women's 800 Prelims: Melissa Riggins secured first overall in the prelims with a time of 2:07.07. Charlotte Bell followed in seventh overall with a time of 2:09.08 and Angeline Caamano in eighth with a personal best 2:11.01. All three Hoyas will compete tomorrow in the finals.
- Women's 200 Prelims: Abbie Huey ran a season-best 24.01 in the event to take first overall. Ochan followed in second with a time of 24.14 and Rodgers took seventh with 24.57. All three Hoyas will compete tomorrow in the finals.
