WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will travel to Storrs, Connecticut to face the UConn Huskies this weekend in GU's second BIG EAST series of the season. Due to anticipated inclement weather in Storrs, Friday will now feature a doubleheader beginning at 12:05 p.m at Elliot Ballpark.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (12-20, 1-2 BE) defeated Maryland 11-7 on Tuesday afternoon. GU secured the win behind a stellar performance from the pitching staff and a grand slam from Jeremy Sheffield.
- Blake Schaaf paces the Hoya offense, slashing .337/.452/.495 on the season. The sophomore is tied for the team lead in doubles (8), is second on the squad in triples (1) and leads the team on the base path with 22 stolen bags on the campaign, a mark that ranks 16th nationally.
- Andrew Williams and JT Raab lead the Hoyas on the mound as Williams boasts a 2-2 record while Raab is 3-1 on the season. In 38.2 innings of action, Williams has posted a 2.79 ERA, a mark that leads the BIG EAST while Raab has posted a 3.89 ERA in 41.2 innings of action. Raab leads the squad in strikeouts with 38 while Williams follows closely behind with 32 to his credit.
- Georgetown ranks seventh nationally in stolen bases with 93 on the season. GU trails VMI (167), Wofford (106), Southern University (101), Mount St. Mary's (98), Texas Southern (97) and Longwood (94).
- The Blue & Gray ranks top three in the BIG EAST in base on balls (161), ERA (5.94), runs (214), sacrifice bunts (26), sacrifice flies (21), shutouts (1), stolen bases (93), stolen bases per game (2.91) and strikeouts per nine innings (7.6).

- UConn enters the weekend series with a 14-17 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference action. The Huskies are coming off a 12-4 midweek victory over Hofstra.
- Ryan Daniels leads the Huskies at the plate slashing .337/.457/.587 on the season. Daniels leads the team in doubles (7) and triples (2) and has chipped in 29 RBIs and 19 walks.
- On the mound, Brady Afthim boasts a 1-1 record and a 0.90 ERA in 20 innings of action. Afthim has allowed only two earned runs while punching out 32.
