Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Marquette on Senior Day

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (8-6, 3-1 BE) will host BIG EAST foe Marquette (9-5, 3-2 BE) for the Hoyas' final home game of the season on Saturday, April 19. The opening draw is scheduled for noon on Cooper Field. 

HOW TO FOLLOW
  • Saturday's game is set for a noon opening draw and will be shown on FS1 with Cooper Boardman and Monika Moore calling the action.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 17-6 BIG EAST victory over Butler at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. 
  • Against the Bulldogs, nine Hoyas recorded a goal, including a team-best five goals from Emma Gebhardt. Gracie Driggs added four goals while Anne McGovern tallied two. Rileigh Meyer, Hanna Bishop, Sophia Loschert, Lauren Steer, Reagan Ziegler and Della Goodman each recorded one goal.
  • Driggs recorded 14 draw controls against Butler and is now third in program history in draw controls in a season with 101.
  • On the season, Bishop leads the Hoyas with 52 points (24G, 28A) while Driggs leads with 43 goals. 
  • Bishop and McGovern are the leading playmakers for GU with 28 and 27 assists, respectively.
  • Christina King leads the defense with 15 caused turnovers, followed by Lily Athanas with 14. 
  • In net, Leah Warehime has 101 saves for a .404 save percentage.  

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
  • Marquette is coming off a 16-15 BIG EAST victory over UConn at home on Saturday, April 12. 
  • Against the Huskies, Hanna Bodner led the team with five goals and added two caused turnovers and three draw controls.
  • On the season, Meg Bireley leads the Golden Eagles with 72 points and 57 goals. 
  • At the circle, Lorelai VanGuilder has recorded a team-best 52 draw controls. 
  • Defensively, Lily Dietrich and Bodnet lead the Golden Eagles with 17 caused turnovers. 
  • In net, Brynna Nixon has 82 saves for a .347 save percentage. 

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday's contest will be the 15th meeting for the Hoyas and the Golden Eagles, dating back to 2013. 
  • GU holds a 10-4 advantage over Marquette, including a 4-2 record on Cooper Field. 
  • Last season, the Hoyas downed the Golden Eagles 18-11 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
