WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's lacrosse attacker Sophia Loschert was named the 2025 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year while first-time head coach Caitlyn Phipps and her staff were named BIG EAST Co-Coaching Staff of the Year alongside Denver, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Additionally, Lily Athanas, Gracie Driggs and Maley Starr were named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and Hanna Bishop earned a spot on the second team.

Sophia Loschert - Fr. | A | Summit, N.J. - BIG EAST Freshman of the Year

• In her first season, Loschert recorded 31 goals and six assists, including one game-winning goal and three women-up goals. 
• Loschert also tallied four ground balls and one caused turnover. 
• The freshman recorded a game-high of seven goals and eight points against Xavier.
• The New Jersey native was named BIG EAST Freshmen of the Week on April 7 and April 21.  

Lily Athanas - Sr | D | Manchester, Mass. - All-BIG EAST First Team 

• During her senior season, Athanas recorded 29 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 37 draw controls. 
• Athanas tallied a season-high of seven draw controls at Delaware. 
• The Massachusetts native was named Preseason All-BIG EAST and earned a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nod on April 7. 

Gracie Driggs - Jr. | A | Annapolis, Md. - All-BIG EAST First Team 

• At the circle, Driggs leads GU with 109 draw controls and is third in program history for draw controls in a season. The junior also has 179 career draw controls, which puts her in sixth in the GU record book.
• This season at Delaware, Driggs set a new program record with 16 draw controls in a single game, which was previously held by her sister Emma Driggs with 15. 
• Driggs also led the Hoyas with 49 goals and recorded three assists, 14 ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• The Annapolis native was named Preseason All-BIG EAST and earned three BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nods this season. 

Maley Starr - Sr. | M | Winnetka, Ill. - All-BIG EAST First Team

• The senior recorded 14 goals, 20 assists, 13 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and five draw controls. 
• The midfielder recorded a season high of seven points and four assists against Marquette. 
• In the opening week of the 2025 season, Starr was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week. 
• Starr was named Preseason All-BIG EAST and earned a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nod on April 21. 

Hanna Bishop - Gr. | A | Bronxville, N.Y. - All-BIG EAST Second Team

• Bishop leads GU's offense with 55 points and 29 assists. The graduate student also recorded 26 goals, seven ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls. 
• Against William & Mary, Bishop recorded a season-high of six assists and 10 points and at Delaware, she tallied a season-high of 4 goals. 
• On February 24, Bishop was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
