WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the BIG EAST Conference announced that Georgetown University's Chloe Scrimgeour was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week. At the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, in the women's 5000 meters, Chloe Scrimgeour delivered a standout performance with a time of 15:05.40, a mark that vaulted her to sixth place on the NCAA all-time outdoor list.
Head Coach Alton McKenzie
"Chloe has remained competitive on the national landscape in an era when times in the distance events have become significantly faster and faster. Her 15:05.40 in the 5K annihilated a record previously held by a Hoya legend Emily Infield. This performance speaks volumes and is beyond deserving of the recognition by the conference as the BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week."
Assistant Coach Mitchell Baker
"Chloe has chipped away over the past 18 months at building into the next-level version of herself after a banner fall of '23; to see some of the fruits of that labor this past weekend was incredibly gratifying to her, her teammates and our coaching staff. We're excited to see what she takes from the race into the championship season!"
