Hoya Women’s Golf Set for Terps Invitational

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team opens the month of April by staying local at the Terps Invitational, hosted by the University of Maryland. The two-day tournament is scheduled for April 6-7 in College Park with the 14-team field taking on the par-72, 6,244-yard course at the University of Maryland Golf Course.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS

  • The tournament will begin on Sunday, April 6, with 36 holes scheduled followed by the last 18 holes on Monday, April 7.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Hoyas are coming off an eighth-place finish at the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational, a three-round tournament, created by the ANNIKA Foundation and co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University. With a score of 49-over 925 (314-308-303), the Hoyas placed eighth among the 12-team field that competed on the par-73, 6,425-yard course at Old Barnwell in Aiken, South Carolina.
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Most recently, co-captain Megan Gormley was the top Hoya on the leaderboard as she tied for 15th at the More Than Golf Invitational after carding an 8-over 227 (77-74-76). In her last outing, she tallied one eagle, eight birdies and 31 pars over 54 holes. Gormley has played in the top three of the lineup all season, including seven times in the top spot. She has a 74.58 stroke average for the season and is averaging 2.58 birdies and 10.29 pars per round.
  • Georgia Ruffolo finished in a tie for 26th at 12-over 231 (78-76-77) in the team's last outing after recording 10 birdies and 24 pars. For the season, she has a 74.21 stroke average playing in every round in the top two spots of the lineup with 2.58 birdies and 10.58 pars per round.
  • In her spring season debut, Claire Chen moved up 13 spots to tie for 28th at 13-over 232 (81-78-73) fueled by 12 birdies and 23 pars.
  • Gabriella Eifrig has competed in every tournament this year in the GU lineup. For the season, she has a 77.71 stroke average to go along with 1.92 birdies and 9.54 pars per round. In the last tournament, she tied for 45th place at 18-over 237 (78-82-77) with six birdies and 26 pars.
  • Catherine Qiu will compete in the fifth spot of the lineup after playing in all but one tournament this season. She averages 1.14 birdies and 9.19 pars per round. Most recently, she finished 59th at 28-over 247 (84-80-83) with three birdies and 26 pars.
  • Charlotte Hillary makes a return to competition after missing the last tournament. Competing as an individual, Hillary owns a 78.71 stroke average for the season to go along with 1.76 birdies and 9.10 pars per round. She most recently competed in the City of Oaks Collegiate where she tied for 68th at 30-over 246 (80-79-87).
 
UP NEXT
After this tournament, Georgetown will open postseason play at the 2025 BIG EAST Championships at Riverton Pointe in Hardeeville, South Carolina on April 19-21.
