Georgetown Women’s Golf Announces 2025-26 Newcomers

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Head Women's Golf Coach Kate Schanuel has announced the newcomers ahead of the 2025-26 season. The duo includes one freshman as well as a transfer.

PRIOR TO GEORGETOWN
  • A standout golfer at Oaks Christian High School where she was the 2023 Marmonte League Co-Champion / MVP and repeated to earn the honor outright in 2024.
  • Named to the 2021-22 Marmonte League First Team.
  • A four-time Marmonte League Team Champion with Oaks Christian.
  • Named the athlete of the week by the LA Daily News and the Ventura County Star.
  • Competed at the 2025 Toyota Tour Cup (TTC) at River Ridge Victoria Lakes, finishing second behind scores of 71 and 70.
  • Took third place at the 2025 TTC at Olivas Links after carding a 71 and 73.
  • Finished fourth at the 2024 TTC at River Ridge Vineyard with cards of 71 and 70.
  • Placed ninth at the 2024 AJGA Dana Junior Open with a three-round score of 220 (77-73-70).
  • Named a 2024 AJGA Rolex Scholastic Junior All-American.
  • At Oaks Christian, she excelled in the classroom as well as she was the head of the school's list and was an AP scholar with distinction.

PRIOR TO GEORGETOWN
  • A 2023 Texas 6A State Team Champion and was named to the Elite Scholar Athlete First Team.
  • She ranked 34th in Class of 2023 (AJGA Rolex).
  • A 2022 Rolex AJGA Scholastic All-American, she was also named Austin American-Statesman Central Texas Girl Golfer of the Year in 2021.
  • A 2020 AJGA Tournament champion as well as a 2020 Greenwood Cup Jr. Invitational champion.
  • The Texas native tallied four top-5 and eight top-10 AJGA finishes.
  • A three-time Texas Legends Jr. Tour Tournament champion.
  • Named Texas 6A First Team All-State three times.
  • A member of the National Honor Society at Vandegrift.
  • Father Chris Burton was a collegiate athlete at Notre Dame who competed on the men's golf team (Class of 1996) while her sister Annie Burton runs cross country and track at UC San Diego (class of 2028).
 
2024-25 AT NOTRE DAME
  • Did not compete.
 
2023-24 AT NOTRE DAME
  • Recorded three top-30 individual finishes in the spring.
  • Tied for 13th place at the Glass City Invitational.
  • Finished with a stroke average of 75.4 for the season.
