WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's cross country team, currently ranked No. 12 nationally in the preseason US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, will send a contingent of runners to the Cantello Invitational, formerly the Navy Invitational, hosted by the US Naval Academy on Saturday, September 13. The Hoyas will compete in the open 5K race held on the USNA Cross Country Course in Annapolis, Maryland.
 
MEET COVERAGE

• The Cantello Invitational consists of an open women's 5K race (9 a.m.), followed by the invitational women's 6K race (9:45 a.m.) and then the men's 4.9 mile run (10:30 a.m.) The Hoyas are slated to have runners compete in the open 5K race.

ABOUT THE No. 12 GEORGETOWN HOYAS

• The 12th-ranked Hoyas opened the season at the Trials of Miles Opening XC Night presented by New Balance and Tuscarora High School XC in August held in Leesburg, Virginia. The women's squad placed fourth in the event.
• The Hoyas were led by Charlotte Bell who finished third with a time of 17:49.9. Alli Crytser (18:41.8) and Emma Zawatski (18:55.5) rounded out the Hoyas who finished in the top 30. The Hoyas also had Hannah Andrejczyk finish in 31st with a time of 18:55.9 and Tori Ketzler took 38th running a 19:06.2.
• This is just the second meet of the season for the Hoyas.
