WASHINGTON – Barrett Justema and
Charlotte Tomkinson punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday, highlighting an impressive final day for Georgetown track & field at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Lexington, Kentucky.
Justema shattered her own school record in the 3,000m steeplechase to secure her spot in Eugene, Oregon, while Tomkinson advanced to the national semifinals in the 1,500m for the second-consecutive season.
Georgetown Women
- Women's 3,000m Steeplechase Quarterfinals: Barrett Justema punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships after clocking a school record and personal best time of 9:51.28 in the 3,000m steeplechase. With the performance, she becomes the only Hoya in program history to dip under the 10-minute mark in the event. This is the second time this season Justema has broken the school record, lowering the previous benchmark of 10:04.25 she established at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.
- 1,500m Quarterfinals: Charlotte Tomkinson clocked a 4:11.86 in the quarterfinals to punch her ticket to nationals, advancing to the 1,500m semifinals in Eugene for the second year in a row.
- Women's 5,000m Semifinals: Almi Nerurkar placed eighth in heat two with a mark of 15:55.20. She had the 14th-fastest time among those in the field.
