Hoyas Hit the Road for Midweek Meeting at Creighton

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team heads to the Midwest for a midweek matchup against the Creighton University Bluejays on Tuesday night in Omaha, Nebraska. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. at CHI Health Center Omaha.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • In the last outing, Georgetown (9-7, 1-4 BE) fell to Seton Hall, 76-67, at Capital One Arena. Malik Mack led a quintet of Hoyas in double figures with 14 points on four made baskets and a 5-for-7 performance at the charity stripe. Isaiah Abraham followed up with 13 points that were fueled by a trio of triples, while KJ Lewis, Vince Iwuchukwu and Caleb Williams had 10 points apiece. Iwuchukwu led GU on the glass, snagging a squad-best seven rebounds. He also had a game-high and career-best four steals. Lewis paced the Hoya offense with three assists.
  • A quartet of Hoyas are scoring in double figures led by Lewis who is tallying 15.1 ppg, while Mack averages 14.4 ppg, Julius Halaifonua adds 10.9 ppg and C. Williams notches 10.3 ppg. Lewis' 15.1 ppg ranks ninth in the BIG EAST conference.
  • C. Williams leads the Hoyas on the glass grabbing 5.7 rpg, followed by Lewis (5.6 rpg) and Halaifonua (4.9 rpg).
  • Mack paces the offense with 4.3 apg, which ranks fourth in the league, followed by Lewis who averages 2.9 apg.
  • Lewis ranks third in the BIG EAST and leads the Hoyas in strips with 2.1 spg.
  • Before the start of the 2025-26 season, Lewis was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Second Team and Mack was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Third Team. The Hoyas were also selected sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll in Head Coach Ed Cooley's third season at the helm.
 
ABOUT THE BLUEJAYS
  • Creighton enters the matchup with a 10-7 start to the 2025-26 season, including a 4-2 mark in BIG EAST play.
  • Creighton went 25-11 during the 2024-25 season with a 15-5 mark in the conference.
  • In its last outing, Creighton fell to St. John's on January 10 at CHI Health Center, 90-73. Isaac Traudt led the Bluejays in scoring in double figures with 14 points, followed by Black Harper, who chipped in 12. Austin Swartz, Nik Graves, and Harper led the Bluejays on the glass with four rebounds, and Josh Dix paced the offense with three assists.

ABOUT THE SERIES

Jayden Epps led a trio of Hoyas in double figures with 22 points while Micah Peavy, now with the New Orleans Pelicans, tallied a double-double with 20 points and a game-best 12 rebounds while adding a team-best four assists, four steals and one block. Malik Mack chipped in 15 points to round out those in double figures.
