Hoyas Travel to Marquette on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday to take on the Marquette University Golden Eagles in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at the Al McGuire Center. The opening tip is scheduled for 3 p.m., ET and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Bob Brainerd and Chloe Marotta on the call.

  • Georgetown (10-7, 3-6 BIG EAST) is coming off of a big 59-34 win over St. John's on Tuesday evening at McDonough Arena.
  • Sophomore Destiny Agubata led the way for the second game in a row with 15 points to go along with four assists and a steal.
  • Graduate student Laila Jewett added 13 points as the other Hoya in double figures.
  • Junior Brianna Byars led Georgetown on the glass with seven boards as well as eight points and an assist.
  • The Blue & Gray shot 40.0% (22-55) from the field, and allowed just 28.6% (12-42) shooting by St. John's.
  • GU outrebounded the Red Storm by a huge 40-26 margin with a 15-6 advantage on the offensive boards.
  • This was the lowest opponent point total of the season for the Hoyas. The last time GU held an opponent under 35 points was an 88-31 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg to open the 2024-25 campaign.   • Jewett is averaging 10.1 ppg to rank second and leads the squad with 55 assists.

About the Golden Eagles
  • Marquette (11-6, 5-3 BIG EAST) dropped its third game of BIG EAST play on Wednesday night at Seton Hall, 64-61.
  • Lee Volker had 20 points, while Halle Vice recorded her BIG EAST leading seventh double-double of the season.
  • The duo of Vice and Skylar Forbes have combined to average 32.0 points, 16.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.9 blocks per game in league play.
  • MU sits second in the country at 39.5% as five of the eight players with at least 10 attempts are shooting above a 40% clip.

  • Georgetown is 4-29 all-time against Marquette and 1-15 on the road.
