WASHINGTON – Georgetown track & field opened up the new year at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday, January 17 in University Park, Pennsylvania. The Hoyas competed in 15 events inside Penn State University's Multi-Sport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

Tinoda Matsatsa,
Joshua Davenport, and
Jaden Marchan closed out Saturday's competition with a time of 3:10.25 in the men's 4x400 relay, marking the third-fastest time in school history.
Nittany Lion Challenge Results
Georgetown Men
- 4x400 Relay: The team consisting of Givan, Matsatsa, Davenport, and Marchan secured first place with a finish time of 3:10.25. Their time ranks as the third-fastest in the school's history and is also the fastest recorded among BIG EAST competition this season, according to TFRRS. Georgetown's second team of Micah McKenzie, Nicholas Medeiros, Lucca Pizzimbono and Jordan James took seventh, crossing the finish line at 3:21.30.
- 600m: Three Hoyas placed in the top five, led by Matsatsa (1st, 1:16.20) and Marchan (3rd, 1:16.59), who each ran personal bests. Medeiros took fifth with a time of 1:17.40, and Lucian Gleiser finished seventh, clocking a time of 1:20.94.
- 300m: Jackson McCusker placed fourth with a time of 34.33, while Davenport (6th) finished close behind with a time of 34.61 and James (10th) rounded out the top 10 with a time of 35.44.
- 1000: Tommy Shaw (6th) and Alex Pelov (3rd) made up the pair of Hoyas who captured top ten finishes. Shaw clocked in at 2:22.97, and Pelov recorded a time of 2:23.79.
- 60m Final: McCusker secured fourth, recording a time of 6.86.
- 400m: McKenzie finished sixth with a time of 49.36.
Georgetown Women
- 60m Final: Ida Moczerniuk took second, recording a time of 7.46.
- 600m: Freshman Emma Bennett finished fifth with a time of 1:33.94, while a quartet of Hoyas rounded out the top 10. Mary Grace Hegberg placed seventh, followed by Lillie Bogdan (8th), Emma Zawatski (9th) and Luci Lambert (10th).
- 300m: Jadah Fitzgerald took fourth with a time of 39.62 in her first race of the season.
- 1000: Grace Hegberg (6th) was GU's top finisher with a time of 2:50.64. Lamert (7th) followed closely behind, clocking in at 2:51.28 while Emma Bennett (9th) crossed the finish line with a time of 2:52.27.
- Long Jump: Tatum Cramer placed 20th with a mark of 4.78m (15-08.25).
- 200m: Sofia Calabretta finished 22nd with a time of 25.73, and Mia Coleman took 24th with a time of 25.81.
- 4x400 Relay: The team of Fitzgerald, Maczerniuk, Calabretta and Lambert finished 10th with a time of 3:58.90.
