NEW YORK - Senior captain and defender Kaya Hanson was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday. The standout defender helped anchor the Hoya back line to a 1-0 shutout victory over Delaware on Thursday.

   •   Hanson has started all six matches for Georgetown this season, anchoring the Hoya back line as the team's defensive leader.
   •   The captain has helped Georgetown record four shutouts through the first six matches of the season.
   •   The senior defender was named the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
   •   Hanson helped lead the Georgetown defense to consecutive clean sheets against Saint Mary's and No. 12/4 Virginia, limiting both opponents to scoreless draws.
