WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team embarks on a split location weekend including the 2026 home opener at Kehoe Field. The Hoyas kicks off the weekend against BIG EAST foe on Friday at 1 p.m. on the Hilltop before traveling to face VCU in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Please note that spectator seating is extremely limited at Kehoe Field and fans are strongly encouraged to bring their own.
 
About the Hoyas

• Georgetown went 1-1 last weekend to even their record to 4-4 on the season and 0-1 in league play. The Hoyas fell 2-1 at Temple in the BIG EAST opener before defeating Rider 2-1.
• The win over the Broncs was the first for the Hoyas since 2019.
• Katherine Malloy scored two of the three goals over the weekend for the Blue & Gray, including the game-winner against Rider. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts.
• In goal, Alex Duff (2-4) had seven saves against the Owls in the loss while (Ella Fahey (2-0) collected one save in the win against Rider.
• On the year, Kate McManaman paces the Blue & Gray with nine points (3G, 3A) while Izzy Lee (2G, 2A) and Malloy (3G) both have six. Riley Fitzgerald, Carline Suko and Colleen Malone all have four points off of two goals apiece.
• In goal, Duff has started six of GU's eight games and holds a 1.92 goals-against average with 27 saves, a .692 save percentage and one shutout. Fahey has a 1.50 GAA with two saves and a .400 save percentage.

Scouting Providence

• Friday's BIG EAST showdown is slated for 1 p.m. on the Hilltop at Kehoe Field.
• Providence is 6-2 to start the year and 1-0 in league play. The Friars upset No. 15 Old Dominion 2-0 in their BIG EAST opener before falling 4-3 in overtime at Brown in a cross-town Providence matchup.
• Lily Procaccianti leads PC with 15 points (7G, 1A) while Carly van Benten (4G), Martu Torre Festa (2G, 4A) and Bo Martina (3G, 2A) each have eight.
• Ava Porter (5-2) has seven of eight games for Providence and has a 1.36 GAA with 18 saves and a .667 save percentage in 396:30 between the pipes.
• The Friars defeated Georgetown 2-0 in last year's meeting in Providence. The last Hoya victory came in 2011 with a 3-2 overtime victory in Providence.

Scouting VCU

• Sunday's game is set for 1 p.m. in Richmond at Carey Street Field.
• The Rams are 3-4 on the year with wins over Kent State, William & Mary and La Salle. Three of VCU's four losses came against top-10 opponents – No. 1 Northwestern, No. 6 Wake Forest and No. 9 Duke.
• Josefina Ventimiglia leads the Rams with five points (2G, 1A) on the year while Julia Spohr and Carley Deaver both have three points off of a goal and an assist.
• Emma Clements (3-4) has played every minute in goal for VCU and has a 2.52 GAA with 46 saves and a .719 save percentage.
• VCU won the last meeting 2-0 at home last season. Georgetown's last win in the series came 1-0 on the road in Richmond in 2021.
