Georgetown's
Khary Robinson (Kingston, Jamaica) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal and handed out an assist as the 13th-ranked Hoyas defeated William & Mary in the Stihl Soccer Classic, 3-1.
With the victory, the Hoyas remained perfect with a 4-0 record.
Georgetown fell behind early in the second half, but tied the game when Kenny Owens (Washington, D.C./Wilson) converted a pass from Andy Sole (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in the games 64th minute. It was Owens team-leading fourth goal of the year.
Robinson put GU ahead for good with a goal in the 78th minute. Freshman Joseph Paden (Signal Mountain, Tenn./The Baylor School) had the assist. The Hoyas put the game away with an insurance goal in the 86th minute when Robinson set up Nate Port (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake).
Brian O'Hagan (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers) made five saves in recording his third win of the year. The Hoyas will face Old Dominion on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
