Three Georgetown Lacrosse Players Taken In Draft

WASHINGTON, DC - Three Georgetown University players were selected in the 2001 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft held on June 2, 2001. Rodger Colbert (Irvington, N.J./The Peddie School), Mike Henehan (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) and Scott Doyle (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep), all captains of the 2001 team, were picked in the league's first draft. The MLL begins play on June 7.

Colbert, a defenseman, was selected in the second round by the Bridgeport Barrage. He was taken with the 12th pick overall. Henehan, an attackman who can also play midfield, was picked in the third round by the Boston Cannons with the 17th overall selection. Doyle, a midfielder, was also chosen by the Cannons. He was taken with the 20th pick overall in the fourth round.
