Baseball Team In A Local Battle, Falls To Terps

College Park, MD- Georgetown's baseball team (5-15) dropped their first game of the week tuesday afternoon losing 8-1 against the University of Maryland (14-2) in College Park, Maryland.

The Hoyas were held to just one run off seven hits. The Terps combined for 13 hits on the day including two homeruns by catcher (Maxey). Georgetown fell behind in the first inning 2-0 and was shutout untill the eighth inning when James Supple (Fr., Summit,N.J./St.Peter's Prep) delivered a bases loaded single to left field for his second hit of the afternoon. Maryland continued to extend their lead with a run in the eighth and ended the game with a 8-1 victory.

Georgetown returns back to action on Sat. Mar. 16 to battle with Seton Hall in a double header. The first game is set for 12:00 pm EST. This will be Georgetowns first conference action.

The Hoyas game with UMBC has been postponed untill Mar. 27 at 3:00 pm. The game was postponed due to rain.
