The Hoyas have selected infielder Matt Carullo (Jr., Oakton, VA/Paul VI) and pitcher Eric Sutton (Sr., Deerfield Beach, FL/Deerfield Beach) as their player and pitcher of the week.
Carullo batted 4-for-11 (.364) with a homerun and a double in the Hoyas 1-3 week. He also scored four times and collected five RBIs increasing his total to 15 on the season. Carullo is nearly on pace to be Georgetown?s triple crown player ? posting a .342 season average (2nd), 15 RBIs (3rd), and three HR?s (tied for 2nd).
The lone win of the week came behind an excellent performance by lefthander Eric Sutton. He tossed a complete game 8-4 victory over the Seton Hall Pirates helping the Hoyas to their first BIG EAST conference win. Sutton struck out six in the performance and limited the Pirates to three earned runs on five hits.
