WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senior men?s lacrosse player Steve Dusseau (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was named the Division I Warrior/Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week for the week ending April 8. This is the second time this season that Dusseau has earned the honor, the first was awarded for his five-goal effort at Duke on March 24.
Dusseau netted a career high nine goals in the Hoyas? first victory this past week over Bucknell. He scored nine of the Hoyas 13 goals and each time Bucknell closed the Hoya lead to one in the first half Dusseau scored to keep the Bison at bay. His nine goals are a 2002 NCAA high for goals in one game. In GU's 16-6 victory over #20 Brown on April 6 Dusseau hit for three goals. In the first half Brown cut the lead to one twice only to have Dusseau bury a goal and widen the margin. Dusseau now leads the nation in points per game (5.13) and goals per game (4.13).
Georgetown is the last remaining unbeaten Division I lacrosse team. The Hoyas are off to an 8-0 start this season and currently are ranked #4 in the USILA/STX poll. The Hoyas are 3-0 in ECAC play and will face out of League opponent Hobart this Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m.
