WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Head Coach Pete Wilk announced the addition of two coaches to the Georgetown University Baseball staff. Doc Beeman and Matt Daily will begin their coaching tenure immediately.
Beeman comes to the Hilltop from Trinity University in San Antonio Texas and will focus his attention on pitchers and recruiting.
Daily comes from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. His main focus at Georgetown will be on outfielders and hitting. He will also assist in recruiting.
Both coaches bring a great deal of energy and experience to the program.
?I am excited to be at Georgetown and to work with Coach Wilk,? Beeman said Thursday. ?His vision for this program along with the opportunity to compete in the Big East were both major factors in my decision to come here.? Beeman spent the past four years as the Associate Head Coach for Tim Scannell at Trinity where the 2002 team led the country in ERA.
Before moving to Lewis and Clark, Daily coached at the University of Portland (2001), Texas A&M ? Corpus Christi (2000), and Del Mar Junior College (1999). He spent this past summer coaching in the highly acclaimed Northwoods League with the St. Cloud River Bats.
Beeman received his Bachelors degree in History and his Masters in Education from Trinity University, while Daily graduated cum laude in American Studies before earning his Masters in Education from Notre Dame.
