Women's Field Hockey Drops to Penn

WASHINGTON, D.C. ? The Georgetown University women?s field hockey team (3-13-0) lost to Penn (10-4-0) Wednesday afternoon on Kehoe Field by a score of 3-0.

Penn started the scoring early, with Liz Lorelli notching a goal at the 5:34 mark of the first half. Despite the early lead, the Hoyas played the Quakers evenly throughout the rest of the half and keeping the score at 1-0.

The Hoyas kept the midfield pressure on, yet Lea Salese scored a goal for the Quakers 12 minutes into the second half. Penn scored again at the 54:31 mark to seal the game off a goal by Tracy Statter, with the assist by Liz Lorelli. The Hoyas were limited offensively, notching three shots to the Quakers 17.

Goalie Abby Winer (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) made eight saves for the Hoyas. Georgetown will travel to Philadelphia next Wednesday October 27, where they face Saint Joseph?s at 7 p.m.
