Curtin, Gargan, and Schramm Named to NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Team in Men' Soccer

WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Georgetown University?s men?s soccer team had three players named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Team. Junior back Jeff Curtin (Oreland, Pa./Germantown Academy) was named to the Second Team while senior midfielder Dan Gargan (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) and sophomore Ricky Schramm (East Chester, N.Y./Fordham Prep School) were both named Third Team performers. In addition, Gargan was also selected to play in the MLS Player Combine held in Los Angeles, California at the Home Depot Center from January 8-11.

Curtin, a third team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Team in 2003, was named to the Second Team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Team.  Curtin was also named All-BIG EAST Second Team for the third consecutive season. He played in 19 games this season and had five goals and one assist from the center back slot. Curtin has anchored the Hoya defense his entire career and earned the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year award in 2002.

Gargan was named to the third team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Regional squad for the second consecutive year as well as being selected to play in the MLS Player combine.  Gargan, co-captain of the team his junior and senior year, has battled injuries this season but still earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors after being selected to the All-BIG EAST Third Team last year. Gargan was second on the team in scoring with 15 points off four goals and seven assists.

Schramm capped off a fantastic sophomore season by being named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Regional Third Team. In addition to this post season honor, Schramm was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year along with All-BIG EAST First Team honors. Schramm ended the year as the BIG EAST leader in points and goals with 13 goals and six assists in 20 games played.

Georgetown (11-8-2) capped off a successful season with a run to the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals where they were defeated 1-0 by Seton Hall.
