BETHESDA, Md. ? The Hoyas baseball team split a double-header with the Bulldogs of Yale on Saturday falling to 8-6 while losing for the first time at home this season.
The Hoyas, one strike away from a victory in game one, failed to hold the Bulldogs as they rallied with a run in the seventh and won the game 2-1 with a run in the ninth in the seven-inning game. Stephen Burns pitched exceptional allowing one run and fanning six in seven innings for the Hoyas. Erick Chandler (1-1) suffered the loss for Georgetown.
Georgetown regained their winning ways in the latter half of the double-header winning 3-1 behind the arm of Travis Danysh. Danysh earned the win tossing 7.2 innings allowing just one unearned run while striking out five. Thomas Braun sealed the victory hurling the final 1.1 innings and picking up his first save of the year.
The Hoyas will continue their battle with Yale University tommorrow in the final game of the three-game series. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.at Shirley Povich Field, Admission is free to all Georgetown home games at Shirley Povich Field.
