The Scoop
Georgetown takes a trip North on the Beltway to face off with Baltimore?s Loyola College. Loyola is Georgetown?s oldest and most faced foe in men?s lacrosse history. Today?s game will be the 27th meeting all-time between the institutions and the 11th time the schools have met in Baltimore. Georgetown has won the past two showdowns but Loyola leads the overall series 23-3. The schools took two hiatus? in the series between 1987-1993 and 1998-2000; otherwise they have met every season since 1970.

The Hoyas rebounded from a tough loss to Navy two weeks ago by defeating Vermont 13-5 in New Canaan, Connecticut. GU has won six of its last seven and has not given up more than eight goals since the season opening loss to Maryland. Georgetown?s only losses of the year have come against current #2 Navy and #3 Maryland. The Hoya defense is on pace to set the all-time record for fewest goals allowed, giving up 7.25 per game. Last season?s defense owns the record with a 7.33 goals allowed average. Senior captains Walid Hajj and Neal Goldman have accounted for 36% of GU?s goal scoring, netting 15 and 12 respectively.

Loyola enters the game with a 3-4 overall record. Loyola lost last weekend at Syracuse 13-8 and owns wins over Towson, Notre Dame and Quinnipiac. The offense is led by the combination of Stephen Brundage (12 g, 6 a) and Matt Monfett (9 g, 8a).

You Should Know...
