Washington, DC - The Georgetown University men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to the seventh-ranked Connecticut Huskies this afternoon at Marrone Stadium in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinal Round. Georgetown drops to 10-9-1 on the season.
The Hoyas fell behind, 1-0 just ten minutes into the start of the contest when Brian O'White headed a ball from five yards out past GU goalkeeper Andrew Keszler (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman).
Later in the first half, Keszler made a save on a Connecticut penalty kick to keep the Hoyas within 1-0 as the teams headed to the locker rooms.
In the second half, the Huskies extended their lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute as Karl Schilling converted on a penalty kick of his own after a GU foul in the box.
The game would stay close until the game's final ten minutes when the Huskies score three times in the 82nd minute, the 84th minute and the 88th minute.
Keszler finished the day with six saves while the Hoya offense came up empty on three shots that all occurred in the second half.
