Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown men's heavyweight crew team swept five races against local rival George Washington on Sunday on the Potomac River.
The varsity eight race proved to be the closest heat of the day, despite an over-the-head crab by the George Washington stroke seat. The error occurred about four minutes into the race with the Hoyas only leading by less than a half a boat, however it led to Georgetown widening their lead and win by six seconds with a time of 5:58.6.
No other race proved to be as narrow, as the Hoyas posted wins in the second varsity eight, varsity hour, novice hour and novice eight races.
