Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Brutto (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll the conference announced Monday. Brutto and the Hoyas are currently 6-2-0 on the season and 1-2-0 in the BIG EAST after picking up their first conference win of the year against DePaul on Sunday.
Brutto is 4-0 on the season and is yet to allow a goal this year resulting in four shutouts. Against DePaul, he tallied five saves as the Hoyas won 1-0. He has 18 saves in 360 scoreless minutes of play for the year. Last season, he played in nine games with 31 saves, a 1.10 GAA and three shutouts.
The Hoyas moved into the national rankings after starting the season 5-0. The squad kicks off a three-game road trip on Friday at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
