Washington, D.C. - Sophomore attacker Jordy Kirr (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday for the second week in a row. Kirr and the Hoyas had a 1-1 record on the week with a victory over George Mason on Wednesday but falling on Saturday at No. 8 North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The Hoyas are now 5-3 on the season.
Kirr scored two goals and posted an assist in the, 16-10, win over George Mason on Wednesday. She also had two ground balls in the game. Against UNC, Kirr led the Hoyas with three goals and one assist for four points in the 12-7 loss.
The Baltimore, Md., native is ranked second on the squad in goals (18) and points (30). She also leads the team in assists with 12 on the season.
Georgetown is 5-3 overall after playing some of the toughest opponents in the nation. The Hoyas have been ranked as high as fifth in the country by www.insidelacrosse.com. Currently, GU is ranked eighth by Inside Lacrosse and fourth by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
The Hoyas are in the midst of a four-game road trip and will open up BIG EAST play this Friday at Notre Dame. GU will complete the conference weekend with a game at Rutgers on Sunday.
