Installment Two Installment One Sept. 15, 2009
Washington, D.C. - Hey Hoya Fans! This week saw two more wins for our team as we beat GW 1-0 and Robert Morris University 6-0, improving our record to 6-1. They were definitely two wins that we needed to get as we head into BIG EAST play this weekend.
Our first Big East game will be against Villanova this Friday here at home at 3 p.m. on North Kehoe. After we play Villanova, we will pack up and head out on Saturday to go play at UPenn. That game will be Sunday at noon, but we will get there the day before to practice on their field, and then spend the night in the hotel before the game. I hear this weekend promises some amazing dinners and tailgating, courtesy of the Millers and Buonomos!
This coming week we will finally get into a normal practice and game routine. These last two weeks we have had Wednesday and Sunday games and have yet to get into the normal swing of things (Friday/Sunday games, and three practices in a row each week).
Our team continues to have a great time both on and off the field. We really have a talented and exciting team this year, so we are definitely looking forward to seeing how we measure up in the BIG EAST.
Senior Erika Roberts will be updating GUHoyas.com this season about the happenings of the Hoya women's soccer squad. Keep up to date with her musings as Georgetown launches Hoya Insider, the new blog packed full of inside information on a number of their teams and what's going on in the athletics department.
