WASHINGTON - Senior midfielder Ashby Kaestner (Trappe, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) was named to the women's lacrosse BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after a solid outing with the Hoyas going 1-1. Georgetown defeated Villanova on Friday 20-7 marking the Hoyas' first conference victory. GU fell in triple overtime to Princeton on Sunday 15-14.
Kaestner had two goals and three assists in the win over Villanova for five points. She also picked up five ground balls and tallied five draw controls as well as one caused turnover. In the tough match against Princeton, the senior managed four goals while also having one ground ball, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
No. 9 Georgetown is 3-5gumgu on the season and 1-0 in BIG EAST play. This marks Kaestner's first nod to the honor roll of the season and the Hoyas' third of the year.
The Blue & Gray has a pair of important conference home games scheduled for this weekend. GU will host No. 11 Notre Dame on Saturday and Connecticut on Monday.
