WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's rowing team wrapped up its first day of competition at the George Washington Invitational on Friday afternoon on a sunny, cool day with a strong tailwind on the Potomac River.
The Georgetown varsity B four including coxswain Kathleen Bush-Joseph, Madeline Sarason, Maura Timoney, Isabel Baker and Anna Drabek finished in third place in the third heat in a time of 7:56.0 behind Navy and St. Joseph's.
The Hoyas varsity four finished in second place behind Navy and in front of St. Joseph's in a time of 7:17.3. The varsity four boat included coxswain Lindsey Weil, Katherine Bruce, Isabel Aguirre-Kelly, Jacqui Snell and box Anika DeVolder. Georgetown's varsity B eight defeated MIT in a time of 6:32.8. The Hoyas second varsity eight consisted of coxswain Danielle Valle-Fitzgerald, stroke Jackie Fogarty, Bridget Roddy, Alex Guyton, Marissa Morgan, Lauren Abrams, Angela Nelson, Taylor Dana and Molly McShea.
The Hoyas varsity eight concluded the day of racing for the women, finishing behind MIT in 6:28.7. Georgetown's varsity eight included coxswain Libby Hambleton, Lindsey Bragg, Sydney LeGuyader, Meg Ginivan, Dasha Ryaboshapka, Kelsey Wilson, Erin Carter, Amanda Savage and bow Katherine Farrell.
Georgetown will conclude its weekend at the GW Invitational on Saturday.
